Each test that Faxbeep receives is public for 30 days. Anyone can open it on faxbeep.com. Then Faxbeep removes it automatically. You do not need to do anything.

What is public

  • The pages of the fax or the scan, as an image and as a PDF.
  • The date and time it arrived, and the page count.
  • The sender, in a masked form. For a fax by phone, part of the number is hidden. For a test by email, only a masked form of the address shows, for example s***@c***.gov. See How the sender shows.
The sender ID that your machine prints at the top of each page is part of the image, so it is not masked. Faxbeep never shows the subject or the message text of an email test.

When a test is removed

Faxbeep counts the 30 days from the time the test arrived. It removes the test shortly after the 30 days end, not at the exact minute. When a test is removed:
  • The PDF and the image of the pages are deleted.
  • The test is no longer in the list of test results on faxbeep.com.
  • Its page stays at the same URL, but shows only a message.
To remove a test sooner, see Remove a fax.

What the URL shows after removal

The page answers with the HTTP status 410 (Gone). Faxbeep keeps a record of the test with no pages on it, for example the sender, the date and the page count. Only Faxbeep staff can see it. For the details, see the privacy policy.

The states of a test

A test that could not be processed is also removed after 30 days.
