Many copiers have an Internet Fax mode, also called . In this mode the copier scans the page and sends it as an email with the page attached, usually as a TIFF file. It uses your network and your outgoing mail server, not a phone line. Send a page in this mode to a test address, and Faxbeep shows it on faxbeep.com.
Each test is public for 30 days. Anyone can open it on faxbeep.com. Use a test page with no personal or confidential data. To remove a test sooner, see Remove a fax.

Which test do you need?

“Internet fax” can mean two different things.

Test addresses

Each fax number is also a test email address: the digits of the international number, with no plus, then @faxbeep.com. Use the address in the “Test email address” column. These are the same addresses as for the scan to email test.

How to send an Internet Fax

1

Copy a test address

Use one of the test email addresses.
2

Send from your copier

Select the Internet Fax mode, enter the address and send one page. The name of the mode depends on the maker of the copier. Look for “Internet Fax”, “I-Fax” or “iFax” on the control panel or in the fax settings.
3

Find your result

Open faxbeep.com. Your page appears at the top of the list of test results, usually in a minute or two. Its title is “Email from”, then your address in a masked form, and its page says “Received by email”.
4

Check the result

Open your page. Check the orientation, the clarity and the page count. See The fax page.

What you can send

The rules and the limits are the same as for the scan to email test.

No reply and no delivery report

Faxbeep does not send a reply email or a delivery report. If Faxbeep cannot accept your page, it refuses the email with a short message while the email is delivered. Your mail server reports the message, and many copiers show or print it. Each message, its cause and what to do are on Email refusal messages. If your copier shows a send error of its own, the email did not leave your copier. Check the outgoing mail server (SMTP) settings. Internet Fax uses the same mail settings as scan to email. If nothing appears and you get no message, see My fax does not appear. faxbeep.com has more on the Internet Fax test.
